Japanese bullet train strikes bear in northern Akita; hundreds of passengers unharmed
A shinkansen bullet train collided with a bear on Japan's JR Ou Line in Akita prefecture on Tuesday morning, bringing the high-speed service to an emergency halt. The train carrying approximately 200 passengers and crew members sustained no damage and resumed operations within an hour.
