Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for the government to prioritise technological advancement and foreign investment over political disputes, warning that endless disagreements distract from nation-building efforts. Speaking at the PH Grand Rally "Justice for the People of Johor" in Muar on June 15, Anwar stressed that Malaysia's future competitiveness depends on embracing artificial intelligence and quantum computing technologies.

The Prime Minister highlighted that his recent visit to Japan included discussions on bringing AI infrastructure and data centres to Malaysian shores, alongside exploring quantum computing capabilities. These initiatives, he argued, are essential for securing prosperity for future generations and maintaining the country's appeal to international investors.

Anwar questioned the wisdom of allowing petty sectarian disputes to dominate political discourse while critical economic opportunities slip away. "If politics is just about fighting day in and day out over Chinese, Malay, Indian, temples, and mosques, just endless bickering, when are we going to take care of this country?" he asked, emphasising that global interest in Malaysia presents a unique moment for development.

Calling on citizens across all communities to unite behind the government's development agenda, Anwar projected confidence in Malaysia's potential. He noted that international investors are increasingly drawn to the country without requiring aggressive marketing campaigns, signalling strong global confidence in Malaysia's prospects.

As both PKR President and PH Chairman, Anwar reminded political leaders to reject divisive tactics and focus on addressing genuine public concerns. He cautioned against exploiting communal sentiments for political gain, arguing instead that smart governance requires listening to the people's actual needs and building consensus for the nation's advancement.
