King to Select Public Prosecutor from JLC List, Cabinet Role Removed Under New Legislation
Malaysia's new legislation removes the Prime Minister and Cabinet from appointing the public prosecutor. The King will instead select candidates exclusively from a list provided by the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, strengthening judicial independence.
