Greece Declares Emergency as Crete Wildfire Forces Mass Evacuation
Greece has declared a state of emergency in the Rethymno region of Crete after a major wildfire forced the evacuation of approximately 8,000 residents and tourists. Extreme winds and poor visibility have hampered firefighting efforts across multiple fronts.
