Japan Establishes New Agency to Combat Premium Crop Theft Abroad
Japan will establish a specialized agency by August to protect its premium crop varieties from unauthorized overseas cultivation. The move follows discovery that seedlings of about 50 Japanese-developed farm products, including the Beni Princess citrus, leaked to China and South Korea.
