Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has urged MADANI Communities throughout the country to shoulder responsibility for ensuring citizens receive truthful, verified and dependable information regarding government policies and achievements. Speaking at the Jiwa MADANI programme in Kota Bharu, he stressed that this task should be distributed among community groups rather than resting solely with official bodies like the Information Department (JAPEN) and Community Communications Department (J-KOM).

Fahmi pointed to recent government accomplishments that deserve wider public awareness. These include food security initiatives such as maintaining adequate rice stockpiles during celebrations, administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. He also highlighted the Cooking Oil Price Stabilisation Scheme System (eCOSS), operated by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, which has made subsidised cooking oil more readily accessible to households nationwide.

"These successes achieved under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration are precisely the kind of information MADANI Communities should be communicating to ordinary Malaysians," he explained. The minister presented appointment letters to Kelantan MADANI Community leaders for the upcoming 2026-2027 period during the event.

To strengthen coordination, the Communications Ministry intends to hold frequent information sessions keeping community leaders updated on pressing matters and policy developments requiring grassroots communication. The Information Department will monitor how effectively MADANI Communities fulfil their dissemination role at community level.

Fahmi warned that underperforming groups would face consequences. "We will direct JAPEN to act immediately if any MADANI Community becomes inactive. When this occurs, we will undertake replacements and make other necessary adjustments to ensure continuity," he stated.
